Instrument Knowledge:

Working ability -- Atomic absorption and emission (ICP) spectrometry including graphite and hydride techniques and ICP-MS, Technicon AutoAnalyzers, autotitralyzer, all standard laboratory equipment (balances, pH meters, autoclaves, microscopes, spectrometers, conductivity bridges, and sonifiers), sonic sifter, pressure plate apparatus, CEM microwave pressure controlled digestion unit, high performance liquid chromatograph, gas chromatograph, and scintillation counters.
Some use of -- NMR, Infrared and UV spectroscopy.

Managerial Experience:

Twenty-six years as Laboratory Manager of a growing team of chemist and technicians at the Soil, Water, and Air Testing (SWAT) Laboratory, New Mexico State University, Las Cruces, New Mexico. The laboratory began as a shop of two people and grew to six sectional teams to include base (wet chemistry and soils), inorganic, organic, microbiological, quality control, and administrative.
Secured a contract with the New Mexico Environment Department to analyze public drinking water systems in the state of New Mexico for organic contaminants, heavy metals, volatile compounds, secondary group, nitrate, nitrite, fluoride and cyanide.

Member and Board member of Association for retarded Citizens, Vice President (1981), and President (1982 and 1983) of the Las Cruces Association for Retarded Citizens.
Manual Communications Interpreter for the deaf in the Las Cruces area.
Member, Vice President (1990 and 1991, 2001-2004), President (1993 and 1994), and Director of Instructions (1998, 2000 and 2001) of the Las Cruces Soccer Referee Association. Became a certified instructor, assignor, and assessor in 1996.
